Privacy policy for moss-context

Effective 11 October 2026 · Zarren Kuzma

What moss-context is

moss-context is a personal software tool written by Zarren Kuzma and used only by him. It is not offered to, installed by, or operated for anyone else. It keeps a private, searchable copy of his own email and calendar on his own computer so that AI assistants running locally on that computer can answer questions about his schedule and correspondence.

What it accesses

With his permission, moss-context connects to his Google account using two read-only permissions:

Both permissions are read-only. moss-context cannot send, edit, label, move or delete anything in Gmail or Google Calendar.

What it does with the data

Retention and deletion

The local copy mirrors the source. When a message or event is deleted in Gmail or Google Calendar, it is erased from the local database on the next synchronisation. The whole database can be deleted at any time, and access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account permissions page, after which moss-context can read nothing further.

Google API Services User Data Policy

moss-context's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing feature described above, is not transferred to anyone except as needed to provide that feature or to comply with law, is not used for advertising, and is never read by humans other than the account owner himself.
